So I'll let it go. And I've been struggling with the same rationalization about the Hourglass series...and others that I only have one more left to read. But those one mores were starting to add up. :)Sandy @ Somewhere Only We Knowhttp://sandyfarmer.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7611036570698926101.post-5053740257883063752013-08-27T13:16:55.035-05:002013-08-27T13:16:55.035-05:00I have a Series Graveyard too - I WANT to read the...I have a Series Graveyard too - I WANT to read the whole lot but sometimes a book just leaves me so bleugh that I don't want to bother.

I loved Blood of Eden so I will go back to it, although The Eternity Cure was soooo slow in places. And I kinda want to say goodbye to the Hourglass series but there's only one more to go (look at me trying to convince myself).

It's freeing to let go of series we know we're just not going to finish. It definitely feels good to let these go.

Yes, I've only read books 1 and 2 from The Iron Fey. They were okay. Sorry you went out and bought them all. Hopefully you can find someone who will enjoy them. Maybe just spread them out to different people so they don't notice the trend in her work :) I definitely find it hard to DNF whether I bought the book or got it for review. Freebies like library books of kindle freebies aren't as hard to do. Whether or not I will try again remains to be seen, but I don't feel under pressure to do so. I had been guilty of choosing a few Netgalley books I never heard of "just because I could" and didn't enjoy any of them much. I put them in the above named category. Doesn't mean they are poorly written or executed, just means I will not force myself to read them, as if it was a homework assignment for my own good. I also put a couple of books I bought with my own money in that category. Unlike you though, I don't have a prob with series DNF; mine are stand-alones. I am going to be more nit-picky about books I am given for book tours also. Thanks for starting this conversation!Rita_hhttp://myhomeofbooks.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7611036570698926101.post-45089645322878704792013-08-23T22:52:54.960-05:002013-08-23T22:52:54.960-05:00I agree DNF is so hard. as we have discussed in th...I agree DNF is so hard. as we have discussed in the past.
I read books 1-3 of Bluebloods but I just couldn't pick up the rest.
L.J. Smith was one of the first authors I really liked so I bought every book that came out by her. Sadly I do regret that. I bought Forbidden Games and that's when I realized how repeating all her plots are. I still love her and will most likely pass the books on to people that don't have other amazing books to compare them to.
I really did enjoy Incarceron and wished it would have ended there. I did read Saphrique and it wasn't all that bad. The friend that I borrowed them from made me promise not to see if there would be a book 3. I seriously need to do the same thing. Couldn't agree more with HoN, Blue Bloods, The Immortals and VD!! Most of the others I've never heard of, though a few I think are somewhere on my list of 700+ books. Ha!

Purging is good for the soul!
