Goodreads description--Bryn Aven is an outcast among the Kanin, the most powerful of the troll tribes. Set apart by her heritage and her past, Bryn is a tracker who's determined to become a respected part of her world. She has just one goal: become a member of the elite King’s Guard to protect the royalty. She's not going to let anything stand in her way, not even a forbidden romance with her boss Ridley Dresden. But all her plans for the future are put on hold when Konstantin– a fallen hero who she once loved – appears to be up to something dangerous, kidnapping changelings. Bryn is sent in to help stop him, but will she lose her heart in the process?

It's been a while since I've read any Amanda Hocking, and ironically enough, I haven't actually read any of her traditionally published work. I think this might be a good one to read next. What are you waiting on this week? Let me know!

This feature is part of my All Things Halloween event--a month of paranormal, supernatural, mystery/thriller, etc reviews and books.

Troll tribes....now that is one thing that I've never seen a story on, much less a YA with romance and trolls. Sounds interesting! And I like the cover.

  5. This is in the same "world" as her Trylle books, but I think this must be considered a spin-off series so I'm sure starting here will be fine! Thanks for stopping by and commenting Laurel!

  6. Have you not read her Trylle books? I think you have them. Honestly, they're not amazing or anything, but I haven't read any of her traditionally published books yet so I'm interested to see how much better (if at all) they are. I enjoyed her other books, but still. I think this is considered a spin off series from the Trylle ones because it says "From the World of the Trylle" on the cover.

  13. I haven't read any of Amanda Hocking's books! This does look really interesting, though, so I just might have to change that. :)

  14. Really? I've actually only read her self-published books. They were....a bit...rough around the edges (and in the middle on some of them). HAHA! But I'm interested in seeing how she's done with her traditionally published books.
