The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ The Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~this meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~ It's a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
This was a pretty fantabulous week. I was off work on Friday for some much needed relaxation. I'm also off work tomorrow too. Yesterday, Husband and I enlisted to the help of my nephew to help us around the yard with some chores. However, this has been another week where I haven't gotten any new books. It's kind of odd to have two of these weeks in a row. It really hasn't been planned. I've been trying to be slightly picky about what books I request for review lately, and the new releases I'm dying for just haven't released quite yet.

10) A Dance with Dragons (A Song of Ice and Fire, # 5) by George R R Martin (I doubt I’ll finish this one, but a girl can hope, right?)
11) Passion (Fallen, # 3) by Lauren Kate
So tell me...since I've read Shatter Me (Shatter Me, # 1) by Tahereh Mafi, should I really read the novellas Destroy Me (Shatter Me, # 1.5) and Fracture Me (Shatter Me, # 2.5)? What do you think?
That's it for my shelves and recaps of my past and upcoming week. What did you add to your shelves this week? Any bookish news you want to talk about? Let me know!
Sounds like you had a good week :). And really how did you manage to not get any books for two weeks in a row? I really could use a week without getting any new books, I have so many books I still have to read and I am getting more each week.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Shatter Me, or actually I didn't finish it. So I can't tell you about the novellas. I did heard a lot of people who where team Adam didn't like the novellas though.
Wow, you've had a great week! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteJessica @ Tales Between the Pages
I was wondering why you and Russ never replied to my email on Friday! I should've sent it to your home accounts. Enjoy your day off tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI'm participating in a Mt. TBR Challenge for the year....but it might be nice to really kick it up a notch. Enjoy your week...and here's
ReplyDeleteMY WEEKLY SUNDAY/MONDAY UPDATES
You really did have a good week. Hope next week is just as good. Enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteJenea @ Books Live Forever's Sunday Post
Glad you had such a great week - if you didn't read as much as you expected, well, you'll read more later ! Have a nice sunday :)
ReplyDeleteYes I recommend the Shatter Me novellas they were instrumental in my feelings. no books is sometimes a good thing, and aside from freebies and must haves I have done fairly well not requesting, although some still arrive. Have a splendid week!
ReplyDeleteI really need to get back into Jessica Sorensen's series. I've enjoyed the first couple books but then got pulled away from it. I think I even own them all... Hmm. Maybe I'll work one of those in among my review copies soon. :)
ReplyDeleteWith regards to the Mafi novellas, I would recommend reading them if you enjoyed Shatter Me. I fell in love with that book instantly, so I couldn't get enough of the world she built ... and those characters. Destroy Me showed the true Warner and I thought it was incredible.
You def should read Shatter Me. It adds a lot to the reading experience. Fracture Me, no so much in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteNo new books. Well, I've done that on several occations. The nice thing, I have tons here to get to. :) Hope you have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI applaud your dedication to not getting any new books!! Believe it or not, I'm picky, I really am. I just haven't found any books until just recently :S
ReplyDeleteCongrats on two books off your TBR! I think that's awesome! And great books I'm sure I own and need to read; at least I'm sure I own Mara's #1, not sure about #2!
Hope you get more relaxation in THIS week!!!
Congratulations on not getting any new books! I'm serious. It will give a little more time to concentrate on the ones already on your TBR list. I need to do that myself! And you're doing well on the TBR Pile challenge. I'm trying to get through a tough work project so I can read some of my TBR PIle challenge books.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Sandy!
3rd blogoversary wow that does take a lot of dedication to be out there in blogospere. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteOn the book front, I still haven't read the Millennium Trilogy, still waiting somewhere on my TBR pile, didn't even read #1 so far though saw the movie.
Have a great week and Happy Reading!
My Sunday post is here
I really have no idea. And truthfully I haven't gotten any books in this week yet either. *gasp* But that'll change next week. I've definitely been more picky about which books I request lately. I've just been focusing on reading some of the ones I already have in my possession lately. I hate you didn't get to finish Shatter Me. Just reading Shatter Me I wouldn't even know why there's another "team" besides Team Adam, but I'd seen "Team Warner" stuff before I even started reading Shatter Me. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! Sorry I'm so late replying.
ReplyDeleteWhoops! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm sure the books can count toward both challenges too! Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteOh no I read more than normal. Just didn't get any new books this week. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI've added the novellas to my TBR list. I might by # 1.5 in the next day or two. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI've added the novellas to my TBR list. I'll probably buy # 1.5 soon. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteYep. That's the beauty of not getting any new ones--you can finally get around to the old ones you've had in your possession for so long! Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty good. It wasn't as funny as some of the others in the series, but still good. I don't expect too much out of those books so they're just quick and easy reads for me. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteHa, I haven't really made any specific bans on getting new books, but I have been trying to focus on reading the ones I've had in my possession for a while now. But I am trying to be more picky with my request books. So yeah, I get why you haven't found much recently. I definitely recommend the Mara Dyer books. And Shatter Me too. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's helped me be able to get around to the ones I already have in my possession. I hope you're able to knock your work project out soon so you can get to some of your good books! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
ReplyDeleteThanks Peggy! It's been a great 3 years! The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo had a really slow start, and it's pretty different from what I normally read, but I enjoyed both it and the sequel. I'll get to book 3 soon I hope. Thanks for stopping by and commenting! Sorry I'm so late responding!
ReplyDeleteI want to read Takedown Twenty. It looks good. Hope you have a great week!
