The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ The Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~this meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~ It's a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
Man you guys! I was on it this week! I read five books this week. Well...read three and listened to two on audio. Either way, that's a lot of books to get through in one week for me. Friday night, we took my mother out to eat for a late Mother's Day celebration. We got to see her last Sunday on actual Mother's Day, but we didn't really get to spend much one on one time with her. It's been a good week all around.

Goodreads description--What if the world's worst serial killer...was your dad?Jasper "Jazz" Dent is a likable teenager. A charmer, one might say.
But he's also the son of the world's most infamous serial killer, and for Dear Old Dad, Take Your Son to Work Day was year-round. Jazz has witnessed crime scenes the way cops wish they could—from the criminal's point of view.
And now bodies are piling up in Lobo's Nod.
In an effort to clear his name, Jazz joins the police in a hunt for a new serial killer. But Jazz has a secret—could he be more like his father than anyone knows?
That's it for my shelves and recaps of my past and upcoming week. What did you add to your shelves this week? Any bookish news you want to talk about? Let me know!
Five books in one week is a lot! :D I hunt Killers reminds me a bit of Dexter, maybe Jazz like his father is a killer... Can't wait to hear what you think of this book.
ReplyDeleteMy Showcase Sunday @ So Bookalicious
Excellent week, Sandy! Hope next week is just as good!
ReplyDeleteMy recap: http://www.bookclublibrarian.com/2014/05/weekly-book-recap-67.html
I'll definitely post a review of it when I finish it--ha! haven't even started it yet. Thanks for stopping by El!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea how I made it through that many books this week. Yes it was a freebie. Also I preordered Tristain's novella because it was free too, but I won't feature that one until it's released.
ReplyDeleteThanks Catherine!
ReplyDeleteGreat week! I was pretty successful too. I still haven't read anything by Jessica Sorensen though I keep meaning to add her to my stack. Come see what I got at Ms. Martin Teaches Media. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great week! Like the forrest background of your blog too, have subscribed via GFC ;)
ReplyDeleteCool haul. Jessica Sorensen is one busy writer :)
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
You go girl! Five books in one week is awesome! Now the question is did you enjoy all of them? ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear you were able to spend some quality time with your Mom. I'm sure she loved it.
Wishing you a fabulous week!!!
Delilah grabbed my interest...enjoy your new books!
ReplyDeleteHere's
MY WEEKLY SUNDAY/MONDAY UPDATES
Loved Delilah, so emotional though. Enjoy them both.
ReplyDeleteJenea @ Books Live Forever's Sunday Post
I'm really looking forward to reading I Hunt Killers - partly because I've heard it's good, and partly because I've read a couple of Lyga's blog posts and he's a great writer and I like how he thinks. Hope you enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed I Hunt Killers :) Great job on getting through 5 books in one week!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had such a good week. Oh, I really like I Hunt Killers, hope you do to!
ReplyDeleteWell done getting through so many books. I have Delilah, but haven't read it as yet.
ReplyDeleteThanx for visiting My Weekly Wrap-Up!
Naomi @ Nomi’s Paranormal Palace
I loved I Hunt Killers, though the I enjoyed the 2nd one, Game, even better. :) My week was great, I enjoyed taking part in the BoB RaT and read tons this week. Thanks for Sharing! Here's my Sunday Post.
ReplyDeleteA great group of books!
ReplyDeleteOOH I Hunt Killers! I seriously loved it! Sure, that likely has a lot to do with my interest in serial killers, but it's such an interesting exploration of how we're influence by our families. I have yet to read the other books in the series, oddly enough. :) Have a great week Sandy! :D
ReplyDelete5 books is a lot, well done Sandy. I still don't get on with audio books, but should try again, maybe when I go walking.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and Happy Reading.
My Sunday Post is here
I've read several of her books and enjoyed them all for the most part. She leans toward the darker topics though. Hope you have a great week and thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteOh thanks so much for stopping by, commenting, following, and complimenting! You've made my day! Hope you have a great week too Fiza (sorry I'm a little late responding)!
ReplyDeleteMan tell me about it! She has books and novellas popping out left and right. She's probably published more books in a year than any other author I've ever read. Thanks for stopping by and commenting Shane!
ReplyDeleteTell me about it! I took it easy this week though. Poor Husband was starting to feel a bit neglected I think. :( WHOOPS! Ironically enough I did enjoy them all. There were a few little frustrations, but nothing too bad. That's how I ended up getting through so many. I would have slowed down if they weren't as good. Thanks for stopping by and commenting as always Gin! You're one of my faves!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and commenting Laurel-Rain!
ReplyDeleteIt was much better than I expected it to be. And truthfully when I look back on it since finishing it, Delilah's story might be one of the saddest of all that I've ever read. Thanks for stopping by and commenting Jenea!
ReplyDeleteOh I really enjoyed it--I Hunt Killers. I can't wait to get my hands on the sequel. I'll have to check out his blog though. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed it too! Thanks for commenting Finley Jayen! Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Christy! I really enjoyed it too. I've already written my review of it, but it probably won't post anytime soon. I hope you have a great rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Naomi! That's definitely not normal for me to get through so many in one week. Delilah's story was better than I expected it to be, but her story is so sad. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
ReplyDeleteOh I enjoyed it too! I can't wait to get my hands on Game too! I'm glad you had a great week and got tons of reading done with Bout of Books! Thanks for stopping by and commenting Karsyn!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheila!
ReplyDeleteI did too! I can't wait to post my review of it, but that might be a while due to scheduling and such. I find serial killers interesting too. I Hunt Killers came at a good time too since Husband and I are still watching Dexter. But I agree with you about how it involves so much about us being influenced by our families. I definitely can't wait to read the sequel. Thanks for stopping by and commenting as always Rachel!
ReplyDeleteThanks Peggy! Five books in a week is definitely a lot for me. Extremely rare! Audiobooks have to have several factors all in perfect alignment. The narrator, the story itself, what else I'm doing at the time. But really it all depends on the narrator I think to get people into audiobooks. A good narrator can make a good story great. There are a couple of books that I only want to listen to the audio for and that has everything to do with the narrator. I love how I can multitask though. That's really helped me up my number of books "read" this year. Thanks for commenting! Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteWoah - that's impressive! Nearly one a day. Great job! I was sort of shocked to see you purchased a Nova novella - it must've been a freebie? ;)
