The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ The Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~this meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~ It's a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
Let's see. Monday was a pretty normal day. Tuesday I planned to take the kids to the park--our first time going since before March. Well, we got loaded up in the car, and my car wouldn't crank. Of course, meltdowns insued. We did walk and play outside, and then we did a video chat with their cousin. Husband got me a new battery when he got home from work and that seems to have been the issue. Wednesday was a normal day. Thursday, I had an early doctor's appointment. So we loaded up and went to Gramma's house. I ran to the doctor. All is well there. Spent the day with Gramma and then came home. Friday was mostly a normal day. I ran to the eye doctor to pick up my contacts and vacuumed my car. Saturday, we took the kids to the park. It was nice to have Husband with me so I wasn't chasing them both by myself. Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

Goodreads description--A Maiden…Chosen from birth to usher in a new era, Poppy’s life has never been her own. The life of the Maiden is solitary. Never to be touched. Never to be looked upon. Never to be spoken to. Never to experience pleasure. Waiting for the day of her Ascension, she would rather be with the guards, fighting back the evil that took her family, than preparing to be found worthy by the gods. But the choice has never been hers.
A Duty…
The entire kingdom’s future rests on Poppy’s shoulders, something she’s not even quite sure she wants for herself. Because a Maiden has a heart. And a soul. And longing. And when Hawke, a golden-eyed guard honor bound to ensure her Ascension, enters her life, destiny and duty become tangled with desire and need. He incites her anger, makes her question everything she believes in, and tempts her with the forbidden.
A Kingdom…
Forsaken by the gods and feared by mortals, a fallen kingdom is rising once more, determined to take back what they believe is theirs through violence and vengeance. And as the shadow of those cursed draws closer, the line between what is forbidden and what is right becomes blurred. Poppy is not only on the verge of losing her heart and being found unworthy by the gods, but also her life when every blood-soaked thread that holds her world together begins to unravel.
