A to Z Survey

Jamie @ The Perpetual Page Turner created this really cool survey. Check out my answers.

Author you've read the most from:
Richelle Mead - 12 books (Vampire Academy, Frostbite, Shadow Kiss, Blood Promise, Spirit Bound, Last Sacrifice, Bloodlines, The Golden Lily, The Indigo Spell, Storm Born, Succubus Blues, & Gameboard of the Gods)

Best sequel ever:
Through the Ever Night (Under the Never Sky, # 2) by Veronica Rossi, The Dead-Tossed Waves (The Forest of Hands and Teeth, # 2) by Carrie, or Point of Retreat (Slammed, # 2) by Colleen Hoover - These didn't suffer from book 2 syndrome IMO.

Currently reading:
The Dream Thieves (The Raven Cycle, # 2) by Maggie Stiefvater - It's slow going, but I've finally made it passed 20%.

Drink of choice while reading:
Coffee. Really I probably drink water or hot tea the most while reading, but I'd drink MORE coffee if I could.

E-reader or physical book?
I love e-readers. I have two kindles and the kindle app on my phone. I probably have more books on there than physical books these days, BUT there's nothing like a physical book. E-readers just don't have the same smell or feel. They both have pros and cons.

Fictional character you probably would have actually dated in high school:
I think I have actually dated Charlie from The Infinite Moment of Us--just not in high school. I'm coming up blank on a book character I would have actually dated in high school.

Glad you gave this book a chance:
Cinder by Marissa Meyer. Cinderella as a cyborg. I was certain that wouldn't work, but it does. It really does.

Hidden gem book:
The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran - Husband gave me this book before we were even dating. It's filled with wisdom and deep thoughts.

Important moment in your reading life:
Reading Twilight on that family beach vacation that sparked my love of reading again.

Just finished:
The Infinite Moment of Us by Lauren Myracle

Kinds of books you won't read:
Erotica

Longest book you've read:
A Storm of Swords (A Song of Ice and Fire, # 3) by George R R Martin - 1177 pages

Major book hangover because of:
Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices, # 2) by Cassandra Clare. This book stayed with me for DAYS after finishing it. I almost couldn't even think about anything else. Delirium (Delirium, # 1) by Lauren Oliver, I'm still reeling from this series opener. Can't wait to read Requiem, book 3.

Number of bookcases you own:
2 (1 full and 2 half-sized cases) only 1 1/2 are being used for books. 1 of the smaller ones currently houses DVDs.

One book you have read multiple times:
Vampire Academy (the whole series) by Richelle Mead

Preferred place to read:
On the couch besides Husband.

Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you've read:
"You have to understand. I am no one special. I am just a single girl. Five feet two inches tall. And I am in between in every way. But I have a secret. You can build walls all the way to the sky, and I will find a way to fly above them. You can try to pin me down with a hundred thousand arms, but I will find a way to resist. And there are many of us out there. More than you think. People who refuse to stop believing. People who refuse to come to Earth. People who love in a world without walls. People who love into hate and refusal, against hope, and without fear. I love you. Remember. They cannot take it." - Lena, Delirium (Delirium, # 1) by Lauren Oliver

Reading regret:
That I requested Wilde's Army by Krystal Wade from NetGalley. I didn't really enjoy book 1, Wilde's Fire, and my stupid need to complete things (in this case, the series) prompted me to request book 2 when I really wasn't interested in reading it. And now I'm trying to muddle through.

Series you started and need to finish (all books are out in series):
Delirium by Lauren Oliver. Only have Requiem left. There are many other series, but this is the one I'm most excited for right now. I can't wait to post my reviews on this series.

Three of your all-time favorite books:
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Vampire Academy (the entire series) by Richelle Mead
The Dead-Tossed Waves (The Forest of Hands and Teeth, # 2) by Carrie Ryan

Unapologetic fangirl for:
Anything Colleen Hoover

Very excited for this release more than all the others:
Allegiant (Divergent, # 3) by Veronica Roth - because it's the next big release on my radar. And then The Fiery Heart (Bloodlines, # 4) by Richelle Mead because AH!!! It's getting good!

Worst book habit:
Reading like 10 books at one time. I can't help but have multiple going at once. Sometimes it's not easy to juggle them all though.

X marks the spot - Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:
Linger (Wolves of Mercy Falls, # 2) by Maggie Stiefvater

Your latest book purchase:
Pandemonium (Delirium, # 2) by Lauren Oliver (so worth the purchase) - review coming soon.

Zzz-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late):
Hopeless by Colleen Hoover I think I stayed up until 2 in the morning. Luckily that was a Friday night so I didn't have to go to work the next day.

  1. The Dead Tossed Waves was a good sequel. I haven't read Through the Ever Night yet, need to get on that!

  2. I hate that when I request a book on NetGalley I feel obligated to read it, review it and then finish the series even if I do not like it all that much.
I also have the habit of reading several books at once. Right now I am reading three soon to be four when Siege and Storm comes in the mail. As long as the plotlines aren't all that similar I can keep them in order but once they hit that cliché storyline I get jumbled.

  4. Ugh yes! I've been better about watching what I request from NetGalley and I'm getting better about not feeling the need to finish everything.

Oh Siege and Storm...yummy! I didn't love it as much as Shadow and Bone, but I'm excited to see what happens next. And yeah, I totally know what you mean. As long as the stories aren't cliche I can keep them separate.
