The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ The Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~this meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~ It's a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
I wasn't sure I was going to post today. I didn't get home from my weekend trip until about 4:30 pm this afternoon, but somehow I managed to get several books this week and figured it would be better to do a post today than to wait and try to remember them all next week. The trip was really fun. My sister, sister-in-law, and I went straight to Gulf Shores Friday morning and then to my aunt and uncle's house after that Friday afternoon. We played some cards and hung out. Then next morning we got up and went back to the beach for the day. And then Saturday night we went out to eat and went to see The Fault in Our Stars which was awesome. It was such a good movie. I'll try to do a movie review this week, but eesh...no promises. Work has been really stressful this past week. And I'm praying that things calm down some this coming week, but I'm not holding my breath for that.

Though Tristan survived, staying on track is a 24/7 battle he’s not sure he wants to fight. Then Tristan meets Avery, the girl with purple streaks in her hair and tattoos like secrets, waiting to be uncovered. Her smile is warm and inviting, but her sad, hazel eyes tell a different story. And the strangest part is-she can really see him. Only Em can complete the final instruction. She’s tried everything to prevent the creation of a time machine that will tear the world apart. She holds the proof: a list she has never seen before, written in her own hand. Each failed attempt in the past has led her to the same terrible present—imprisoned and tortured by a sadistic man called the doctor while war rages outside.

A gorgeous, introverted science prodigy from one of America’s most famous families, James finally seems to be seeing Marina in a new way, too. But on one disastrous night, James’s life crumbles, and with it, Marina’s hopes for their future. Marina will protect James, no matter what. Even if it means opening her eyes to a truth so terrible that she may not survive it... at least, not as the girl she once was. Em and Marina are in a race against time that only one of them can win.
All Our Yesterdays is a wrenching, brilliantly plotted story of fierce love, unthinkable sacrifice, and the infinite implications of our every choice.

That's it for my shelves and recaps of my past and upcoming week. What did you add to your shelves this week? Any bookish news you want to talk about? Let me know!
I'm going to start City of Heavenly Fire this week so I will have at least one series ender for June.
ReplyDeleteOh yay! Apparently this is going to be the week of series enders for me. I'll be posting reviews for three enders! :) I hope you enjoy City of Heavenly Fire. Thanks for stopping by Rachael!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I never know if I am going to get up the Sunday Post either. I started to just write it through out the week so when Sunday gets here I'm not panicked trying to get it up. Sounds like you had a fun weekend though. Makes me wish I lived closer to my family.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great week. I've heard great things about The Fault in Our Stars movie but I've yet to read the book. We're heading down to Fort Morgan this week and I'm crossing my fingers that the weather will be nice but it doesn't look like it's going to cooperate so we may be spending some time in the movie theaters as well! I've heard great things about the Jenny Han books and I'm really intrigued by Very Bad Things. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the workload but glad you could unwind during the weekend, at least :) I usually build my Sunday post along the week, it's easier than doing it all on one day ! All our yesterdays looks good. Have a great week !
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great week. You got some nice looking books too. Happy reading and I hope the work stress ends soon.
ReplyDeleteI've wanted to start Ten Tiny Breaths for the longest! You look like you have a great plan for the week. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI bought To All the Boys I've Loved Before awhile back and I can't wait to start it. It looks like a great summer read! Great haul this week and thanks for stopping by mine =D
ReplyDeleteYay you got To All the Boys I've Loved Before!! I hope you love it Sandy! Oh my gosh, I need to read All Our Yesterdays so badly. I'm going to download it from Sync, and maybe that'll kick me into gear on that! :D AND I've yet to read A Darkness Strange and Lovely--despite the fact that I've got the third book... Must. Do. Soon. :D
ReplyDeleteI do hope work is calming down for you this week! Have a great one!
Writing it throughout the week is a good idea. I usually keep Saturday post-free and then I get caught up on formatting my posts for the upcoming week that day. It helps me to stay ahead too. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting Angela!
ReplyDeleteOh I would definitely read the book before seeing the movie if you can work that out. Oh wow...we were actually at Fort Morgan exactly. Such a small world. I hope the weather was beautiful for you guys. I really loved To All the Boys I've Loved Before and I'll be reviewing Very Bad Things on Monday so I hope you get to check that out. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting Katherine! Hope you guys had a great trip!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Sometimes that's just the way work is. I like the idea of building your post all week long. I usually leave Saturday free to format all my posts for the upcoming week but since I was out of town this past weekend it just didn't workout for me to do it that way. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy! Work was much better this week, though we've been warned that many more stressful weeks are probably ahead. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
ReplyDeleteOh I LOVED Ten Tiny Breaths. The book and the series as a whole. I hope you're able to read it soon. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
ReplyDeleteTo All the Boys is definitely a great summer read! I knocked it out on the two days that we were at the beach. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting Becky!
ReplyDeleteI did. I loved it. Finished it while we were at the beach--so before I even did my Sunday Post! HA! I really need to read A Darkness Strange and Lovely too. I also have the third book. So yeah...I really need to bump that up on the list. Thanks for stopping by and commenting Rachel!
