The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ The Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~this meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~ It's a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
You guys! Ugh! I've been in a reading and blogging slump lately. I'm trying to take it easy instead of wearing myself out even more. I don't know. It doesn't help that I've got at least 3 books that I'd like to DNF right now. One I'm 64% finished with--so close, right?. One I'm at 46%! Again...almost to the halfway mark! And the other I'm only at 12% but it's by an author that I've loved before in the past yet I'm just not feeling it. And every time I even think about trying to push through in any of these books I just shut down completely. This week was pretty exhausting work wise. But I'm excited because my husband's sister and her family are in town this weekend and they'll be back in town next weekend too.

What terrible luck, to be reading 3 books that you want to DNF. Curious what they are. Hope you get out of the slump soon. Maybe that's your self's way of saying it's time for a little break.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like trying to get through books that just are not doing it for you to put you in a slump! Put them to the side and move on...you can always go back to them if you change your mind!
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear you are in a bloggign and readign slump. Maybe it's better to just DNF those books you are reading or put them down for now and pick up a book you really want to read. I hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI have noticed that I get in a slump more when I have a stack of review books. Even though I review everything I read, including my purchases, those review books from authors, publishers, etc., leave me feeling the pressure.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm not behind on them...but it just feels like someone is holding up a time clock...LOL.
I have decided to cut back on those...at least the ones with deadlines. Enjoy your week, and here are
MY WEEKLY UPDATES

ReplyDeleteIt's hard when we have slumps like this. My worst are when I'm reading a book and don't really care if I finish it. I hope you find a book you really enjoy and want to read soon. Hang in there and enjoy your family.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a better week this week. Sorry about your book slump. I don't usually get them other than wanting to put a book I'm reading down and start a new one.
