Ten Characters Who Make Great BFFs

Top 10 Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish, but is currently hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is Top Ten Characters I'd Want as a BFF.

While there are certainly great BFFs in books, I think asking which ones I'd want as my actual BFFs would be a bit more limiting so I'm just doing ten great BFF characters.

1. Sabine from Bone Crier's Moon by Kathryn Perdue - Since I just finished this book (didn't pay attention to the release date when I picked it up as my next read, whoops), I've got to pull Sabine into this list. She would do just about anything for Aileese.
2. The girls from Finding Mr. Better-Than-You by Shani Petroff - This entire group of girls was great. They're all supportive. They're not perfect, but even in their mistakes they were trying to look out for and protect each other.
3. Marisol from The Library of Lost Things by Laura Taylor Namey - Marisol is the absolute best. Seriously, you could not ask for a better BFF than her.
4. Cookie from the Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones - I don't typically think of adults as BFFs, but Cookie definitely falls into this category without a problem. Love her.
5. Gus from Bright Side by Kim Holden - Man I really need to read Gus's story, but I haven't wanted to wade through his grief just yet.
6. Rose from Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead - I mean Rose is the main character so I probably should have said Lissa. Lissa certainly does her part, but Rose is just...well Rose. Still my favorite YA series ever. And Rose might be one of my favorite characters of all time too.
7. Maddie from Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein - The ultimate sacrifice for her best friend.
8. Sara from Reason to Breathe by Rebecca Donovan - An all-time favorite best friend.
9. Hermoine & Ron from Harry Potter by JK Rowling - Harry simply would not have made it without having these two by his side.
10. Sam from The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien - Again, Frodo wouldn't have made it without Sam. Sam's dedication to his friend is true #goals.

Top Ten Book BFFs

Top 10 Tuesday is a post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and this week's topic is Top Ten Books I Read in 2014. But since I actually have a giveaway posted on the blog that outlines my favorite reads from this year, I figured I'd just refer you to that post. Giveaway ends 12/18/14. Instead I'm doing Top Ten Book BFFs.

1. Sara – Breathing by Rebecca Donovan – Sara is fiercely protective of Emma. She always, always has Emma’s back and will go to bat against anyone to protect her.
2. Dee – Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick – Dee is hilarious and reminds me of one of my real life friends.
3. Lulah – Stephanie Plum by Janet Evanovich – Again…hilarious! Plus Lulah can hold her own.
4. Alice – Twilight by Stephanie Meyer – Granted having her dress me might get a little old, but it’d be nice not to have to worry about what I’m going to wear. The biggest pro here would be the ability to know the future.
5. Howie - Jasper Dent by Barry Lyga - Humorous, but always has Jasper's back. When most people would run, Howie chose to stick by Jasper. He's friendship knows no bounds. As Jasper said "This is hard-core friendship. Varsity level".
6. Ron & Hermione - Harry Potter - Seriously, how could these two NOT make this list?
7. Maddie - Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein - Only the truest of friends could have had Verity's back like Maddie does. Not just anyone could have done for Verity what Maddie did.
8. Lissa - Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead - Even though Rose is the main character and does the majority of the tough work, Lissa does her fair share of saving Rose, especially in Last Sacrifice.
9. Zuzana - Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor - Also brings the humor, but also willing to do whatever it takes to be there for her best friend.
10. Erin - Easy by Tammara Webber - When Jacqueline was attacked, Erin steps up and signs them both up for self defense classes. She just generally all around a great best friend.

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge - Day 3

Day 3 in the 15 Day Book Blogger Challenge hosted by April @ Good Books and Good Wine. Today's topic is Book Blogging BFFs.

Obviously, considering my SNL blogs about books as well, she's pretty much my Book Blogging BFF (Holly @ Words Fueled by Love). Other than that I really haven't "met" anyone I would consider a Book Blogging BFF. I've met a lot of great people and chatted up with a bunch. There's Jennifer from A Librarian's Library. We're fellow Alabamians and we have pretty much the same tastes in books. So that's great. There's Kimba The Caffeinated Book Reviewer. I kind of consider her my blogging mom--I hope that's not totally creepy. :) And then Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard is usually always great about commenting on my posts, and we've probably had the most back and forth conversation out of everyone I've "met". Though there are SO many other bloggers that I've met and really liked and have had great conversations with.
