Bookish Senior Superlatives

Jamie @ The Perpetual Page Turner has another fun Friday topic for us. For my high school, we usually voted both a guy and a girl for each category. Occasionally we even had three people in a category. I'm going to try to stick to that in this post as well. If I reference a character from a series but haven't read the entire series, I'm basing this off what I've read so far.

  1. What a fun meme! Even though I haven't read most of these, I enjoyed the post as a whole. Loved the Harry Potter choices, of course! "Most Likely to Keep Putting Off" made me laugh; I've been avoiding Martin's books myself. And I can't wait to read your review of The False Prince.

  2. Haha...yeah, it was a fun one. A little more difficult than I was expecting. Oh yes, I've been slowly reading through book 4 of the A Song of Ice and Fire series for SEVERAL months now. Book 5 is going to have to wait for quite a while. And I'm excited about my review for The False Prince, but I probably won't be publishing that one on the blog until November. Thanks for commenting again!

  3. My daughter read Game of Thrones, and wasn't thrilled with it -- too much jumping around from character to character for her taste, not to mention lots of people either behaving badly or too stupid to live (by her account!) so I haven't felt inspired to start them yet.

  4. Your daughter probably knows your reading preferences better than I do, but I've loved the intricacies of George R R Martin's story. There are quite a lot of characters who die throughout the books that I've read. None of the characters are safe. And there are also plenty of characters that you love to hate. They're slower reads for me aside from the length--the pacing is slow most of the time. But George R R Martin always surprises me which is something that I love.

  5. Hmm. I may try him at some point. So many people seem to love the books. But I'm so swamped right now that they feel like one thing too many! So... I'll wait until I'm less busy, then give the books a try.
