Sunday Post - 92

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ The Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~this meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~ It's a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Another great week! I was off work on Monday which was really nice. Friday night, we had a special singing at my parents' house with our church family. It was great! Got to fellowship with friends and family that we see every week and that we don't see nearly often enough. Saturday, I finally got a hair cut and got my highlights redone. It's been long overdue, and it feels amazing to have my hair cut. Oh...Husband and I finished Season 5 of Dexter this week! Yep. That's an entire season finished in one week. Also, I didn't get any new books this week.

THIS PAST WEEK:

Monday: Because of Low (Sea Breeze, # 2) by Abbi Glines (4 Stars)
Wednesday: Waiting on The Infinite Sea (The 5th Wave, # 2) by Rick Yancey
Thursday: Review of Requiem (Delirium, # 3) by Lauren Oliver (4 Stars)
Friday: Review of The Power of a Praying Parent by Stormie Omartian (4.5 Stars)
Saturday:Top Ten Gateway Books

UPCOMING THIS WEEK:

Monday: Review of Red at Night by Katie McGarry
Tuesday: Love Triangles - The Ones That Worked For Me & the Ones That Didn't

  3. Nice week for you! Always fun to get your hair styled. Hope you have a good week coming up also. I have heard of Bobbi Brown, a real down to earth beauty advisor, and have seen her on tv. I think my youngest daughter would enjoy that book-- she is all into fashion and beauty. I am more a t-shirt and jeans kind of gal :)

  6. I finished another season of One Tree Hill...and realized there is still one more! I thought there were only eight! But I am not ready to let the characters go, so that's good.

I'm going to try Dexter soon....

    Enjoy your week, and here's

  9. I only watched part of the first season of Dexter. I liked it, so I don't know why I never continued. Isn't it amazing how good a hair cut can make you feel?

  10. I so agree with the haircut feelings! I need to get mine done, too, b/c I wait way too long in between and I know I'm going to feel absolutely beautiful once those ends are cut off and I look normal once again!!!

I'm impressed with no new books this week! That will be me soon! Rock on!

And I'm totally jealous of the singing fellowship you had at your parents house! Your parents sound so cool to host something like that for your church family! Wow! Me? I would be standing in the back watching everyone else sing, thank you very much :D

    Have a great week!!

  11. I am a long-standing member of the need to get your hair cut club. It's been... 8 or 10 months, at least? I cut my own bangs recently because they were basically the same length as the rest of my hair. It wasn't a disaster either! :D

I believe I haven't watched Dexter since season 3. I think it's season 3. Y'all must be enjoying it though! I've heard the series finale is very frustrating. :)

Ooh, and I'll definitely be here on Tuesday to read your post on love triangles!!

    Have a great week Sandy!

  14. Yes, I've been impressed with Bobbi Brown. I do think that your daughter would probably enjoy this book. I've always been a t-shirt and jeans kind of gal myself, but lately I've been interested in hair and makeup more. Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great week!

  16. I'd really recommend Dexter. We've blown through the first five seasons already. Thanks for stopping by!

  17. Girl you got me watching One Tree Hill again! :) I started Season 1 this past week. I hope you enjoy Dexter if you're able to start it soon. Thanks for stopping by!

  18. Oh yeah! It had been since July/August when I got it cut last. Haven't done the highlights in about two years. I definitely recommend Dexter if you get a chance to watch it! Thanks for stopping by as always!

  19. Girl yes! Season 5 was good. It wasn't quite as emotional for me as Season 4, but still really really good. I like where I think it's headed. Yep...the hair cut makes me feel like a whole new person! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

  20. Oh yes The Walking Dead is awesome! We've been watching that in real-time. Hope you get to check out Dexter soon! I think if you like TWD you'll like Dexter too! And thanks so much for following! Hope you have a great week!

  21. Oh I have no idea! Pick it back up!!!!! :) Season 4 was really good with an epic finale. We finished Season 5 this past week and it had a really good finale too! And I completely agree, the new hair feels so much better. Thanks for stopping by Christy!

  22. Oh yes, it was July/August when I got it cut last so it was way past time. I hope you get to get yours cut soon. I didn't really intend to not get any new books, but I've been trying to focus on reading the ones I already have more and so it's happened fairly frequently lately. Yes, my parents are pretty awesome and our church family too. Thankfully I don't think God cares what my voice sounds like when I'm singing worship and praises to Him. :) Otherwise I might ought to keep my mouth shut. :) But it was great to fellowship with everyone too. Thanks so much fro stopping by Kristin!

  23. That's almost how long it was for me too. It was July/August when I cut it last. Whoops! Kudos on trimming the bangs. Sometimes you've just got to get in there and cut those babies! Oh press on with Dexter if you can. Season 4 was REALLY good! And we just finished Season 5. So we're still enjoying it now, but I hate to hear that it might not have the best wrap up. Husband and I have been debating on how we think it will all end! Hope my love-triangles post isn't a disappointment. Thanks for stopping by!

  24. What is it about us and haircuts. I don't like it either… sometimes I have been 'told off' by hairdressers 'Oh you haven't been to the hairdressers for a while have you?" grrrr what to say… it's none of your business right :) Makes me even less wanting to go. It makes all the difference when you have a good hairdresser you can trust. Also, I don't like to chat and be forced to make conversation. Oh, I sound like a right miserable sod here :) And well done for not getting any new books.

  25. Oh yeah, I definitely don't like to feel "scolded" when I go to get my hair done. I go to feel better about myself, not worse. I always get annoyed when they tell me how thick my hair is. But it's more about the way they say it--like it's an inconvenience to them. But I think I might have finally found a place and a stylist that will be a good fit for me! That can make all the difference. I'm not typically too talkative either. It's just my personality. So you don't sound miserable to me...you just kind of sound like me. And I'm not miserable at all. :) HA! Thanks for stopping by--sorry I'm so late replying!
