Goodreads description--Sunny Los Angeles can be a dark place indeed in Cassandra Clare’s Lord of Shadows, the sequel to the #1 New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling Lady Midnight.

Emma Carstairs has finally avenged her parents. She thought she’d be at peace. But she is anything but calm. Torn between her desire for her parabatai Julian and her desire to protect him from the brutal consequences of parabatai relationships, she has begun dating his brother, Mark. But Mark has spent the past five years trapped in Faerie; can he ever truly be a Shadowhunter again?

And the faerie courts are not silent. The Unseelie King is tired of the Cold Peace, and will no longer concede to the Shadowhunters’ demands. Caught between the demands of faerie and the laws of the Clave, Emma, Julian, and Mark must find a way to come together to defend everything they hold dear—before it’s too late.

I don't usually feature a book 2 in a series before finishing book 1, but I am reading Lady Midnight right now, and I don't forsee any reason that I wouldn't finish it. What are you waiting on this week? Let me know!

I saw this on another blog today. I've not read any of this series but know it has tons of fans. Hope you love it!

  2. I've not read a Clare book in a long time! I've heard really book things about this new series (well, the first book, since there is only one book published so far). I hope you enjoy this book when you get the chance to read it!

Have a fabulous week, Sandy. =)

    Check out my WoW post!

  3. Hope its as good as the first.

  4. Haha I picked the same one this week lol! And OMG I can't wait to see what you think as you finish Lady Midnight because....all the feels! My WoW

  5. I really love Cassandra Clare's Shadowhunter world, but I've been up and down with her books. Thanks for stopping by Barb!

  6. Lady Midnight ended in a cliffhanger, but it wasn't the type of cliffhanger that had me excited for this book unfortunately. :( Thanks for stopping by Alyssa!

  7. I did finish Lady Midnight, but I'm saving my review of it for October. :( I know that sounds ridiculous, but I do a month-long event of paranormal and Halloween related books in October. PLUS considering I'm due in October, I hope to have October and maybe November completely scheduled in advance to cut out some stress for me. BUT I hope you check out my review whenever I do get it posted. Thanks for stopping by Eve! I'm sorry I'm so far behind on responding to comments!
