Sunday Post - 10/01/23

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ The Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~this meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~ It's a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

This was a pretty normal week for us with not a ton of extras going on. Monday and Tuesday was a little rough with Little Boy not wanting to cooperate with school. But Wednesday I met a veteran homeschool mom who gave me a good tip. I started using it Wednesday and we had a great day on Wednesday and Thursday. Tuesday was grocery pickup day, and then we had a friend that's also homeschooling come over and swim. It was nice for the kids to play, and I got a little adult time. But I totally forgot about a few things at the grocery store and we ended up going again on Thursday to go into the store. My parents are out of town for a few weeks so we needed something to fill our normal Thursday time. The weather is cooling off here, and by cooling off I mean the mid-to-high 80s. So we've spent more time outside lately. Friday was up and down with school. We had some bumps in the road but overall a good day. Saturday, Little Girl and I went to a baby shower for my niece.

THE PAST WEEK:

Monday: 2023 Series Enders Reading Challenge - September Wrap Up
Thursday: Review of Sleepless in Dubai by Sajni Patel
Saturday: September 2023 EOM Wrap Up

My annual "All Things Halloween" event is starting. This is my month-long event where I feature reviews from Halloween-y genres (fantasy, paranormal, supernatural, sci-fi, horror, mystery, thriller, and suspense). Over the last few years I've had mostly fantasy books as I just haven't been in the mood for much horror, but still...these are books that can get you in the mood for Halloween.

UPCOMING THIS WEEK:

Monday: All Things Halloween Review of The War of Two Queens (Blood and Ash, # 4) by Jennifer L Armentrout
Tuesday: Top Ten Tuesday?
Wednesday: Can't Wait for Wednesday?
Thursday: All Things Halloween Review of Matilda by Roald Dahl

Goodreads description--In the vein of Emily Henry's You and Me On Vacation , Love, Just In is a friends-to-lovers romance with all the tropes that romance readers love best.

Sydney TV news reporter Josephine "Josie" Larsen is approaching 30 and coming dangerously close to failing at life. Lost in a vortex of other people's career milestones, engagement parties, and baby showers, Josie is perennially single, abandoned by her globetrotting family, and invisible to her boss - except for the one time he tuned in while she was mid-panic attack on live TV. As a punishment, Josie is shipped off to cover another reporter's six-month leave at a regional bureau in Newcastle.

But Josie has more waiting for her in Newcastle than yawn-inducing stories about bicycle lane protests. The city is also the domain of Zac Jameson - her best friend since high school. This should be a happy turn of events, but Zac has barely spoken to Josie for the past two years. Not since his fiancee tragically died in his arms in a car accident and he left Sydney to try and cope with his grief.

Now thrown back into each other's lives, Josie and Zac have to navigate their neglected friendship and secret attraction to each other while struggling with their careers and mental health.

Hilarious, sexy and heart-warming, this is the perfect romcom to sit on the shelves alongside Emily Henry, Sally Thorne and Ali Hazelwood.

That's it for my shelves and recaps of my past and upcoming week. What did you add to your shelves this week? Any bookish news you want to talk about? Let me know!
