Sunday Post - 03/03/24

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ The Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~this meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~ It's a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

This was a quick week. Hopefully this is our last one double timing extra-curricular activities. Monday, I kept Baby Boy home from MDO. He was coughing pretty bad. No fever thankfully. I took Big Girl to martial arts and Husband took Little Boy to baseball. Baby Boy woke up at 4 am coughing. After getting up several times, I ended up putting him in the bed with us. We didn't sleep peacefully the rest of the morning, but we did get to sleep a little late. Tuesday, we did our normal grocery pick up. We were a little lazier than normal because I wasn't feeling well either. Big kids had martial arts. Wednesday was a normal day. Thursday was a lot. First I took the big kids to my parent's house. Then I took Little Boy with me to the doctor for his 3 year checkup. All went well there. They did tell us that his blood work showed he was fighting a virus which makes sense considering his symptoms. We went back to my parent's house to hang out until time to come home. Then the big kids had martial arts. Immediately from there, Big Boy had baseball. Big sister had to hang out until her softball practice after. Her practice got cut short due to temperatures. Friday, I had to run an Amazon return to the UPS store. Then we had school as normal. It was raining all day so the kids couldn't get outside to get their energy out which meant for a loud day. Both kids were supposed to have ball practices on Saturday but the rain drenched the fields and practices were cancelled. I don't mind, but it does mean Big Boy has had almost two weeks of practices more than Big Girl. I finished two books this week and I've made a pretty big dent on another one.

Goodreads description--From New York Times best-selling author Lexi Ryan, Cruel Prince meets A Court of Thorns and Roses in this sexy, action-packed fantasy about a girl who is caught between two treacherous faerie courts and their dangerously seductive princes.

Brie hates the Fae and refuses to have anything to do with them, even if that means starving on the street. But when her sister is sold to the sadistic king of the Unseelie court to pay a debt, she'll do whatever it takes to get her back—including making a deal with the king himself to steal three magical relics from the Seelie court.

Gaining unfettered access to the Seelie court is easier said than done. Brie's only choice is to pose as a potential bride for Prince Ronan, and she soon finds herself falling for him. Unwilling to let her heart distract her, she accepts help from a band of Unseelie misfits with their own secret agenda. As Brie spends time with their mysterious leader, Finn, she struggles to resist his seductive charm.

Caught between two dangerous courts, Brie must decide who to trust with her loyalty. And with her heart.

Goodreads description--Dreams come true for an untamable rising star and a mariachi idol in a rousing romance about passion, fame, and family by USA Today bestselling author Priscilla Oliveras.

Ambitious San Antonio singer Catalina “Cat” Capuleta gets the chance of a lifetime when she joins superstar heartthrob and fellow mariachi Patricio Galán on his seven-week concert tour. Demanding and arrogant, Patricio challenges Cat on every level, as an artist and as a woman. But headstrong Cat is determined to be his match. No matter how seductive Patricio’s baritone voice, Cat’s eyes are only on the success and making her familia proud.

No woman gets under Patricio’s skin like Cat. Her talent mesmerizes. Her passion is thrilling. And her drive, stemming from an old unhealed family wound, exposes a vulnerability he secretly recognizes in himself.

When the duo hits the road, the sparks don’t just fly—they detonate. Stage by stage, as each reckons with the past—and with each other’s quick-fire personalities—they bring crowds to their feet, and Cat’s long-held dreams come true. Will their road romance go up in flames? Or could making music together kindle the most rapturous love song of their lives?

That's it for my shelves and recaps of my past and upcoming week. What did you add to your shelves this week? Any bookish news you want to talk about? Let me know!
