Sunday Post - 09/28/25

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ The Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~this meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~ It's a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Monday, Big Girl had pitching practice. Tuesday, we spent the day with my parents, had grocery pickup, and the big kids had martial arts. Wednesday, Big Boy had batting practice. Wednesday was a rough night. I'm still battling sickness, and all three kids came into our room during the night. Big Boy had a bad dream and scared the life out of me when he snuck into our room. Big Girl brought Scout in at 3 am saying he was barking to go potty, and then Little Boy came in some time after that and made a pallet on the floor because he was scared. We were home all day Thursday which was nice. Husband took the kids to Lowes and Home Depot with him. He was still off work this past week and working on a project. The kids love to go see the Halloween animatronics. Friday, we had an easier school day. As soon as I got Little Boy from school, we came home and rushed to eat lunch. Then we went to our local skating rink which was having a homeschool day and some of our co-op friends were there as well. My mom went with us. They kids spent the weekend with my parents. Friday night, Husband and I went on a date to dinner at Texas Roadhouse and to Hobby Lobby. I'm making a banner for Big Girl's 10th birthday coming up in a couple of weeks, and I wanted to work on it while they were gone. Saturday, my mom wanted to take the kids bowling, but I hated to miss out on their first experience with bowling so I went with them. We all had fun, and Big Girl was naturally good at the game. Granted, all of the kids had the bumpers on, and I did not. We grabbed Chickfila for lunch on the way home. I dropped the kids back off at Gramma's and went back home. I didn't get to do everything I wanted to do while the kids were gone, but I guess I got the most important thing done. I am finally starting to feel better. I'm not 100% yet, but I'm happy for the improvement I feel at all.

Goodreads description--On the night Rune’s life changed forever, blood ran in the streets. Now, in the aftermath of a devastating revolution, witches have been diminished from powerful rulers to outcasts ruthlessly hunted due to their waning magic, and Rune must hide what she is.

Spending her days pretending to be nothing more than a vapid young socialite, Rune spends her nights as the Crimson Moth, a witch vigilante who rescues her kind from being purged. When a rescue goes wrong, she decides to throw the witch hunters off her scent and gain the intel she desperately needs by courting the handsome Gideon Sharpe – a notorious and unforgiving witch hunter loyal to the revolution – who she can't help but find herself falling for.

Gideon loathes the decadence and superficiality Rune represents, but when he learns the Crimson Moth has been using Rune’s merchant ships to smuggle renegade witches out of the republic, he inserts himself into her social circles by pretending to court her right back. He soon realizes that beneath her beauty and shallow façade, is someone fiercely intelligent and tender who feels like his perfect match. Except, what if she’s the very villain he’s been hunting?

Kristen Ciccarelli’s The Crimson Moth is the thrilling start to a romantic fantasy duology where the only thing more treacherous than being a witch… is falling in love.

That's it for my shelves and recaps of my past and upcoming week. What did you add to your shelves this week? Any bookish news you want to talk about? Let me know!
