Sunday Post - 12/5/21

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ The Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~this meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~ It's a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Monday was a normal day. I wrapped some Christmas presents. Tuesday, I left early to go get Little Girl from school so that I could do a Walmart pick up for a present for Little Boy. Then I needed to run by our house and drop it off. Well first this Walmart has TWO pickup locations. It isn't my normal Walmart so I wasn't familiar. Thankfully I called. I got a flat tire between the store and home. Thankfully I was almost home when it happened. Also, thankfully my mother-in-law was able to pick up to go get Little Girl from school. Husband came to the house to meet me and change the tire. Little Girl and I hung out with Grammy until he was done. Bless her, she had an allergy attack while we were there and I didn't have anything to give her. We then dropped the car off at the tire place on the way back to my parent's house. Wednesday was normal. But Thursday, Little Girl woke up with a sore throat. She went to school as normal. Thursday afternoon her teacher messaged that she wasn't feeling well, her color was off, but she'd sent her to the school nurse to be checked out and she didn't have any fever. She fell asleep in the car on the way home from school. But steadily from the time we got home her breathing got more shallow and rapid. We did a televisit with a doctor through a service Husband has with his work and he advised us to take her to be evaluated that night. Husband took her to a Children's Urgent Care where they took her O2 level which was 91. They gave her oxygen and a breathing treatment and then sent her via ambulance to our local hospital. I needed to nurse Baby Boy, put him to bed, and then my dad drove me to the ER. Little Girl tested negative for strep, RSV, COVID-19, flu, pneumonia. Chest x-ray was clear. And white blood cell count was not elevated as it would have been were she fighting an infection. Basically they told us they didn't know what was causing her problems. Potentially a virus they didn't test for and potentially astham, although that likely would have shown some inflamation on her chest x-ray. Anyway, we got home about 2 am. Husband slept in her room to monitor her breathing through the night while I had the two boys with me. Friday, we kept her home from school, and she was a little slow to get started, but by the end of the night she was even rough housing with Little Boy. We got information on what to look for to take her back to the ER, and we already had an appointment schedule with her pediatrician this coming week for her yearly check-up. Saturday, we went to see Santa. Then we went to lunch. Finally, we took the big kids to buy presents for each other and us. It was a great day.

Goodreads description--Harley has three goals—stay alive, avenge her brother’s death, and overthrow the traitorous king.

When Harley receives an invitation to the royal castle for her cousin’s birthday, she’s elated at the offer. As the queen’s niece, she’s expected to make an appearance, but this will also be her first time attending a formal function as a married woman. However, what starts as an elegant party quickly turns into a nightmare. One that flips Harley’s world upside down.

Ackley’s mission should have been simple—arrive in Melenia, submerse himself in battle, and retake the kingdom for his sister’s newly betrothed, the rightful king. Instead, he finds the land ravaged and a young woman who could be the key to his undoing. When forced to choose between family, honor, and love, he realizes all of his years training to be an assassin, knight, and prince never prepared him for this. Ackley always thought he’d die by the sword. But what he never realized was love could be the most dangerous weapon of all.
