The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ The Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~this meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~ It's a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
I'm not sure how I did it guys, but somehow I managed to read 8 books in 8 days. Granted, one was a novella, and one was an audiobook. But still! My goodness! Yesterday my dad came over and he and Husband worked on finishing our laundry room. They're still not finished but at least we have sheet rock now. It's going to be really nice when it's finished. And I'm super thankful to my dad for helping us out. Oh and my nephew helped too.

Goodreads description--It seemed only natural to nickname them the ‘Onslow Boys’. Every time they swaggered in the front door of the Onslow Hotel after a hard week’s work, their laughter was loud and genuine as they settled onto their bar stools. I peeked through the restaurant partition, a flimsy divider between my world and theirs. I couldn’t help but smile whenever I saw them, saw him... Toby Morrison.Quiet seventeen-year-old Tess doesn’t relish the thought of a summertime job. She wants nothing more than to forget the past haunts of high school and have fun with her best friends before the dreaded Year Twelve begins.
To Tess, summer is when everything happens: riding bikes down to the lake, watching the fireworks at the Onslow Show and water bomb fights at the sweltering Sunday markets.
How did she let her friends talk her into working?
After first-shift disasters, rude, wealthy tourists and a taunting ex-boyfriend, Tess is convinced nothing good can come of working her summer away. However, Tess finds unlikely allies in a group of locals dubbed ‘The Onslow Boys’, who are old enough to drive cars, drink beer and not worry about curfews. Tess’s summer of working expands her world with a series of first times with new friends, forbidden love and heartbreaking chaos.
All with the one boy she has never been able to forget.
It will be a summer she will always remember.
Warning: sexual references, and occasional coarse language.

ReplyDeleteNice haul. Jane's Harmony looks romantic :) Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteJane's Harmony sounds good to me. Congrats on a busy reading week, and also getting a new laundry room!
ReplyDeleteThat's a truly full-on reading week. Well done!
ReplyDeleteOh, looks like you have some great new books! Enjoy! I have One Plus One on Sparky, and hope to read it soon.
ReplyDeleteHere's my
MY WEEKLY SUNDAY/MONDAY UPDATES POST
How exciting! I remember when we were remodeling the kitchen and the new sheetrock went up I was thrilled! Can't wait to see pictures of your new laundry room! Do you have a paint color picked out yet?
ReplyDeleteHome improvements are always exciting to plan and finish, but the middle stuff gets to me. LOL 8 books is super awesome! *high fives* Hope you have a wonderful week! :)
ReplyDeleteEight books in eight days? Woah! That's so fun! I always feel so accomplished when I get a bunch of reading done in a week. :) Glad to hear your renovations are getting done too!
ReplyDeleteI'm still not convinced I want to read Sinner, though I don't know why. I've seen really good reviews for it, so I can probably be convinced otherwise. :) I hope you have a great week Sandy!!
Thanks Jenea. That's definitely a rare week for me. I'm doing good to get two or three read in a week usually. And ironically enough, I finished another one today. So that's 9 for 9. Craziness! Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shane. I'm a little nervous about starting that one, but I hope it'll be just as good or better than book one. Thanks for stopping by Shane!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Fiza!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by and commenting!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Yeah, I'm a little nervous about Jane's Harmony. I liked book 1, but it had that 70% mark where the main character went and did something stupid and almost ruined the whole book for me. So I'm a little nervous about book 2. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I really enjoyed One Plus One. I was expecting good things because everyone raves about Jojo Moyes, and it lived up to my expectations. Hope you're able to read it soon. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ginny! Yeah, I'm excited that we're making progress. We're going with a light gray color. Neutral, I know, but I really want to keep the space light and open. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
ReplyDeleteOh I know. Light right now my garage has been taken over but all of the stuff that would be in my laundry room. It's a wreck. We can't even pull the car in. And it's supposed to rain all week. *first world problems*. Thanks for stopping by adn commenting!
ReplyDeleteActually I just finished another book today. So technically I'm 9 in 9 now. I have no idea how it happened. Usually I do great to get two or three in a week. But I definitely feel accomplished. Thanks man. Oh as for Sinner. Man...I highly recommend it. I'm a huge Maggie Stiefvater fan. I was so disappointed with The Raven Boys. I felt like The Dream Thieves was better....but reading Sinner makes me realize how much of the Maggie that I love was missing from even The Dream Thieves. Cole and Isabel's story isn't always pretty or happy, but I'm so glad she ended up writing it. And I wish she'd write like this more in The Raven Cycle series. Thanks for stopping by Rachel!
ReplyDeleteGreat reading streak!
ReplyDeleteOh, series ender challenge, will have to check that out! Sometimes I need that extra push to finish of series, haha. And I feel like I'm the only person who hasn't read any Maggie Stiefvater, must fix that soon! Hope you have an awesome week!
Ooh, that cover of Sinner looks cool. Though I haven't read the Shiver trilogy yet. And you've reminded me that I still have "the Boys of Summer" on my kindle :D Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a good reading week!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my post earlier, following you back via GFC :)
Obsessive Compulsive Reader
Yeah, this kind of reading week just doesn't happen for me very often. Oh boy, that kind of makes me even more interested in the Boys of Summer. Glad to know that it's legit. Thanks for stopping by Naomi (sorry I'm so late replying)!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cyn! That kind of reading week is really rare for me. Definitely check out the Series Enders Challenge. There's really no pressure. If you've read one series ender this year then you can participate. :) You definitely should check out Maggie Stiefvater. I just love her writing style. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Sorry I'm so late responding!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to read it, but I have a few review books that need to be read first. Thanks for stopping by Michelle! Sorry I'm so late responding!
ReplyDeleteI definitely recommend that you read Shiver, Linger, and Forever before you read Sinner. Cole and Isabel are a huge part of the first three books and that just carries over to Sinner. Thanks so much for stopping by, commenting, and following! Sorry I'm so late replying!
ReplyDeleteI love gray...as a matter of fact my bedroom is gray and I used yellow as the accent color. I love it!
