Can't Wait for Turtles All the Way Down

Can't-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings to spotlight and talk about the books we're excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they're books that have yet to be released as well. It's based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine. Find out more here.

Goodreads description--Sixteen-year-old Aza never intended to pursue the mystery of fugitive billionaire Russell Pickett, but there’s a hundred-thousand-dollar reward at stake and her Best and Most Fearless Friend, Daisy, is eager to investigate. So together, they navigate the short distance and broad divides that separate them from Russell Pickett’s son, Davis.

Aza is trying. She is trying to be a good daughter, a good friend, a good student, and maybe even a good detective, while also living within the ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts.

In his long-awaited return, John Green, the acclaimed, award-winning author of Looking for Alaska and The Fault in Our Stars, shares Aza’s story with shattering, unflinching clarity in this brilliant novel of love, resilience, and the power of lifelong friendship.

While I absolutely adored The Fault in Our Stars, I didn't love Paper Towns. So I'm not ready to say that John Green is an auto-buy author for me, but I definitely want to check this one out. What are you guys waiting on this week? Let me know!

  3. I didn't care for TFIOS (please don't throw things at me) so I don't know if I'll pick this one up or not. Sure hope you love it though and I know lots of people want this one.

  6. I've also had some ups and downs with John Green. I really HATED the Theorem of Katherine and slept all the way through it. But I still want to give him a chance because I love him as a person. He's a really smart guy, and maybe this book will be good.
Besides, everyone will be raving about it, and curiosity will get the better on me eventually anyway. Great pick.

  10. I have to say that I've only read one review of this one, but it didn't really sound like it might be my favorite either. :( Thanks for stopping by Eve.

  12. He definitely comes off as smart through his writing, but I don't know much else about him personally. I kind of like to keep some distance between myself and authors so they don't disappoint me. :) I hope we both enjoy this one though. Thanks for stopping by Sophie!
