Top 10 Series I Want to Start

Top 10 Tuesday is a post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and this week's topic is Top Ten Series I Want to Start.

1) Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins- Because I joined the Witches & Witchcraft Challenge for 2013 and I've only read 1 book that qualifies so far. There have been mixed reviews on this series though, so I'm a little wary.

2) Delirium by Lauren Oliver- I've seen quite a few people really excited about this series and I want to join the bandwagon.

3) Morganville Vampires by Rachel Caine- From what I hear, this series is pretty humorous as well. I love a book that can make me laugh out loud. Talk about being far behind though...

4) Paranormalcy by Keirsten White- I feel so behind. Seen mixed reviews about this one too.

5) Zombie Fallout by Mark Tufo

6) Matched by Ally Condie- Also seen mixed reviews about. Need to judge for myself.

7) Maze Runner by James Dashner - Actually have this in my possession, borrowed from the library so hopefully I'll get to mark it off my list soon.

8) Birthmarked by Caragh M O'Brien- Haven't really heard too much about this series, which is one of the reasons why I want to check it out.

9) Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake- So many people rated this one as a top of 2012, but I didn't get around to it.

10) Everneath by Brodi Ashton

11) If I Stay by Gayle Forman- Need more contemporary and I've heard good things.

12) Newsflesh by Mira Grant- ZOMBIES!!!!!!!!!!!

What do you guys think? Any of these ones I need to pick up today??? What series do you want to start? Let me know!

  1. I need to start the Everneath series. I've also been considering the Morganville Vampires but I read a short story which didn't really catch my attention but who knows maybe I need to try the actual book.

  5. Matched/Delirium/Mazerunner are all great-- they're no Uglies, but I still liked them!

  6. I haven't read any of those except Delirium! I've been meaning to do Maze Runner and Anna Dressed in Blood as I've heard great things about them. Delirium didn't make me crazy excited, but kept me interested enough to read the next books. I liked Pandemonium so I'll definitely read the third when it comes out.

  7. Oh wow! Almost eveyr series you've listed here is one that I want to read too. I just couldn't put them on my list or I'd never stop, lol. I have read Anna Dressed in Blood and loved both books. And, I've also read Everneath and Everbound and they're on my Favorites shelf! :D

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  9. I am listening to the audiobook of glass houses right now and I just can't get into it. If I stay was amazing and Foreman is a beautiful writer. Everneath and Delirum are great as well!

  10. I have heard If I Stay is good. It almost made my list too!

Morganville Vampires sounds interesting, but after the whole Twilight thing, I am timid about picking up more books that are related to vampires (as silly as that may be).

  11. Oh wow...where to start. We have similar lists I think. You need to read Delirium and Maze Runner...and Birthmarked!! I thought I was the only person who has heard of and read these books but seriously, they are SO good. One of my favorite YA series. Glad to see it on your list.
I know you want to judge for yourself, but I wouldn't worry if you never get to Matched. I read the first one and sort of forgot what it was about...it was that memorable. Not a lot happens.

Thanks for reading my post today. :) Nice to meet you.

  12. I thought the first Hex Hall book was really fun, but wouldn't say it's anything super special. The Morganville Vampires series is fun, too, but WOW are they always coming out with new books in this series. I eventually fell wayyy behind. Anna and Birthmarked are both on my list, too. We read a TON of the same books in 2012 judging by your sidebar-- it's a little freaky. Definitely following you back!

  13. Of all of these, you MUST read the Maze Runner series, Matched series, and Anna Dressed In Blood.

  14. I've only read the first book in Hex Hall and I thought it was cute. I really liked Maze Runner and Everneath, and Anna is also on my Top Ten List.

  17. Good list! I recognize about half of them, and haven't read any. I've been eying Everneath, though. My niece loved If I Stay, so I've been meaning to read it.

  18. I really liked Hex Hall - WAAAAYYY more than I expected to. Its fun and quirky. I wasn't as enamored with the Paranormalcy series. Something about the writing got to me. Matched and Delirium both start out really strong...but I thought they got a little derailed towards the end. I think they are both good series though and worth reading.

    Great list!

  19. Oh read Delerium, its fab and now all 3 books are out so you can read them altogether, so much more fun than waiting forwever for the next book :)
I liked book 1 in Matched but book 2 left me cold and I haven't bothered with Book 3 yet.
    Great choices though :)

  21. I've read two of the three books in the Hex Hall series and enjoyed them for the most part. If you're looking for another series about witches, the Sweep Series by Cate Tiernan is pretty good.

  22. We have so many similar on our lists!

I need to read Anna Dressed in Blood, Everneath and Hex Hall, too!!

I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Morganville - one of my favorite series!!

  23. I absolutely loved Everneath. I just finished Everbound, and my jaw fell open at the ending. I'd definitely recommend Delirium and The Morganville Vampires. I need to pick up Hex Hall as well.

Thanks for visiting my Top Ten.

  24. I love that we read the same books and don't read the same books haha! Many of the trilogies you mentioned would have made my list if I would have included trilogies hehe!

BUT READ NEWSFLESH! IT'S SO GREAT!

    =)

  25. I need to read Hex Hall and Everneath, too. I just got Everneath from ARCycling, so I have no reason not to now! :) Delirium isn't my favorite, to say the least. It has a very tired premise. The Maze Runner is one of my favorite dystopians- since you gave it 4 stars on the side, I'm guessing you liked it.
