Sunday Post - 193

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ The Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~this meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~ It's a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

So I thought I'd get caught up on blog comments and visiting others last week, but it didn't happen. We had company half the week. My husband's friend from Japan. That was fun but busy. It's taken me an entire month to read one book. I feel so deflated when it comes to reading and blogging lately. But I've been trying not to put a lot of pressure on myself. That being said, I still haven't gotten any other new books until I get a few more read. Baby Girl turned 6 months old on Wednesday. She's cutting her 3rd!!!! tooth. She's also beginning to do well sitting unassisted. We started her on sweet potatoes. Time is just going too fast.

A third tooth?!?! Precious ELF is growing up too fast!!! :-(

After writing up my SP yesterday I finally decided to just DNF that book. Your situation for reading time is slightly different than mine but I find even when I'm super busy, I can still blow through a book I'm really into in a week's time at the most. 19 days for me was too long. So buh-bye! It felt good to just move on from it.

  2. I always hate when I think I'll be able to get something done and then it doesn't happen. But hey, if it is because of fun reasons, like having visitors, then it is worth it. Hope you have a great week!

  3. Well now I'm wondering if I was losing my mind about the tooth. It still hasn't broken the skin. But she's definitely growing up too fast.

I was actually enjoying the book, but it was over 500 pages so it was just taking a good bit longer to make progress in it than I would have liked. But I finally finished it. And then finished another book in the meantime. BUT your comment did inspire me to DNF a different book that I'd started a couple of months ago and just dreaded picking back up. You're right though, when it takes too long to read a book that definitely decreases my enjoyment.

  4. Ugh tell me about it. And it's Saturday and I'm FINALLY STARTING to respond to blog comments. I feel awful, but it's just not been in the cards lately. April was a very busy month for our family. But you're right, having visitors is always fun. Thanks for stopping by Lisa!
