The Edge of Never had some pretty big happenings there at the end, and so I was really stoked about starting The Edge of Always and finding out what happens next. However, when I read the description for The Edge of Always, I felt like it gave too much away. Predicting what would happen in this book was a piece of cake after that. And I don’t think there was anything I ended up being wrong about while I was reading it. Despite that, I still enjoyed The Edge of Always. But I don’t want to ruin anything else with my review that you might not be able to discern from the description so I’ll try to be as vague as I can, which may also result from this review being pretty brief.

While the events of the story didn’t surprise me, the characters kind of did. Just looking back on The Edge of Never and where everything started, Andrew definitely feels like a different person than who Camryn met on that bus months ago. But he’s still the same guy. Andrew and Camryn’s need to not live repetitive, monotonous lives carries through from The Edge of Never to The Edge of Always. Events that happen early on in the book force Andrew and Camryn to need to reconnect, reaffirm, and reestablish all that was good about their relationship in the first book. And they do.

I thought that The Edge of Always was a really sweet book. There was no earth shatter literary genius here, but it was a fast and sweet read. I will say that I was at the 70% mark and I felt like I was at the end and things should be wrapping up. It didn’t necessarily feel drug out, but it also didn’t feel like the pacing was exactly right either.

The Edge of Always get 3.5 Stars from me. I can’t say there was anything wrong with it, but it didn’t blow me away either. Have you read The Edge of Always? What did you think? Let me know!

This past week was pretty good. Halloween was Thursday. I hope everyone had a good and happy Halloween. We walked around our neighborhood to take in the sights with all of the houses decorated and the trick-or-treaters. Our neighborhood has several houses that go all out with decorating, and the ones that don't still participate in handing out candy to the kids. It's a great atmosphere and I love it. Then we came home to hand out candy. I have imposed a reading ban on myself for the weekend. My house was in major need of being cleaned, and I personally just needed a break. I think Husband needed me to take a break too. Hope you all had a great week too.

Finding Cinderella - Review

One year and one bad relationship later, his disbelief in insta-love is stripped away the day he meets Six: a girl with a strange name and an even stranger personality. Daniel soon realizes the way he pretended to feel about Cinderella and the way he really feels about Six may not be so different after all. Unfortunately for Daniel, finding Cinderella doesn’t guarantee their happily ever after…it only further threatens it

Colleen Hoover strikes again. I loved Daniel in Losing Hope. Six…well…I didn’t really connect with her much before now because well she just wasn’t present very much. But I was really excited when I heard that Colleen Hoover was going to be writing their story. Daniel is hilarious! He’s witty and sarcastic—just my kind of humor. And Six actually compliments him really well. But despite the humor, Daniel is a huge sweetheart and romantic deep down. I loved it. I loved him.

As usual with Colleen Hoover’s writing, this story is pretty intense. Emotions are intense. The relationship is intense. And what they experience and go through is intense. Colleen Hoover also tends to throw a curve ball in that I just don’t expect, and Finding Cinderella is no exception. I felt like I was punched in the stomach when Six dropped the big bomb. I mean I was reading along and everything was going swell, but I kept thinking to myself “where’s the conflict?” And then “wham”…It was reminiscent of my experience with Slammed….I get smacked in the face with “Oh…there’s the conflict.” But Colleen Hoover works this in such a believable and beautiful way.

More than anything, I just wanted more. Granted, she has said that she’ll give us more in 2014 if Atria Books gets 15,000 Likes on Facebook. GO LIKE THEIR PAGE! She doesn’t say how much she’ll give us, but who cares.
