Sunday Post & Stacking the Shelves - 03/29/20

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ The Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~this meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~ It's a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

This week has been better than last. My kids seem to be rolling with the flow on our self-quarantine. They did wonder why I did a grocery pick up order instead of going into the store, but they don't usually go grocery shopping with me anyway. We've been able to get outside and play every day. The weather has been wonderful. Signs of Spring are everywhere we look. Some bulbs we planted are really blooming. The bees and mosquitoes are out in full force. The grass is growing and trees are full of green leaves again. Pollen is in the air and on every surface outside. But truth be told, none of that is complaints. We have much to be thankful for. Even in the midst of this huge shut down (world wide just about), we are still fed. My family is still healthy (although I know that isn't the case for many). And we are working to strengthen our family connections all around. I do have a giveaway coming up for a book I received a duplicate of, but I also have two that publishers sent me unrequested that I've decided to giveaway. I originally thought I might read them eventually, but both are in the middle of a series and just aren't at the top of my priority list. So I hope to bless someone else with them during this time of quarantine. Be on the look out for those giveaways coming soon.

They defend the innocent and obtain justice for the oppressed. But when a rustler's bullet leaves one of them at death's door, they're the ones in need of saving.

Dr. Josephine Burkett is used to men taking one look at her skirts and discounting her medical skills. What she's not used to is having a man change his mind in a heartbeat and offer to assist her in surgery. Matthew Hanger's dedication to his friend during recovery earns Josephine's respect, and when she hears of her brother's abduction, he becomes her only hope for rescue.

Matt has stared down ruthless outlaws, betrayal, and injury, but when a bossy lady doctor crawls under his skin, his heart is tempted to surrender. And when she is caught in the crossfire, he may have to sacrifice everything--even his team--to save her.

Glad you and your family are doing well during this quarantine! I still keep hoping things will get better as we get warmer weather, but I am thinking it's not going to be that easy. Just got to take it one day at a time I guess.

  2. It really turned out to be a good coincidence that all this started happening as spring arrived. The weather is fairly decent and people can get out and walk. I think it would be so much harder if people were trapped in their houses during winter.

  5. I'm glad you are doing well and thankful for your health and the normal routines that children bring We've not kept to a schedule over spring break but I hope we get back to more of one with my daughter's classes starting again. I probably read too much news; it's not relaxing.

Stay safe and healthy and happy reading!
