Sunday Post - 105 & Stacking the Shelves - 71

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ The Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~this meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~ It's a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

This week marked my 4th 4-day work week in a row. Next week is going to be really hard to have a full week. I took off work on Friday to have the girls over to the house for a swim day. It was some much needed, and much enjoyed, girl time. Saturday I was super lazy, which is way over due. I feel like I've been on the go for weeks now. But I'm not complaining. (Also, this week must have been the week for all things "shatter" related.)

THIS PAST WEEK:

Monday: Review of Torn Away by Jennifer Brown (4 Stars)
Tuesday: Top Ten Blogging Confessions
Wednesday: Waiting on This Shattered World (Starbound, # 2) by Aime Kaufman & Meagan Spooner
Thursday: Review of Shatter Me (Shatter Me, # 1) by Tahereh Mafi (4.5 Stars)
Friday: Review of Crossed (Matched, # 2) by Ally Condie (3.5 Stars)

UPCOMING THIS WEEK:

Monday: Review of One Plus One by JoJo Moyes
Tuesday: Top Ten Favorite TV Shows
Wednesday: Waiting on Wednesday

Goodreads description--From the USA Today bestselling author of True, Sweet, and Believe comes a tantalizing New Adult novel about finding love in the most unexpected ways…

Kylie Warner prides herself on being optimistic, but after finding her best friend in bed with her boyfriend and flunking chemistry, her upbeat attitude has taken a dive. Even an impromptu hook-up with her sexy new chemistry tutor only brightens her mood slightly. After all, it’s not like she’ll ever see the tattooed scholar again…

While he’s a whiz at complex equations, Jonathon Kadisch has trouble when it comes to figuring out women. So when Kylie tells him that she’s pregnant after their night of passion, he’s at a complete loss. He’s prepared to be a good father—unlike his own deadbeat dad—but he’s less prepared to fall for the genuine and alluring blonde bearing his child.

With emotions running high, Kylie wonders if Jonathon’s devotion is out of growing love or looming obligation. And when heartbreak threatens to tear them apart, Jonathon will have to fight for the only girl who’s ever made him feel whole….

After days of ridicule from her peers, Val starts a school-wide campaign to rally support for her cause. She meant to make a statement, but she never dreamed the entire nation would get caught up in the controversy.

As if becoming nationally recognized as “Virgin Val” isn’t enough, Val’s already hectic life starts to spin wildly out of control when bad boy Kyle Hamilton, lead singer for the hit rock band Tralse, decides to take her abstinence as a personal challenge.

How can a girl stay true to herself when this year’s Sexiest Man Alive is doing everything in his power to win her over?

Goodreads description--Six-time Grammy Award-winning musician Kyle Hamilton has it all—money, fame, talent, good looks, and a job he loves. His only regret in life: walking away from a certain notorious virgin because he was too prideful, stubborn, and even afraid to give her the only thing she asked of him—his abstinence.

Four years and a broken heart later, Kyle realizes that sex isn’t everything, and he suddenly can’t stop thinking about the girl that got away. Virgin Val Jensen got under his skin like no one else ever has. He wasn’t ready for her then, but things are different now. He’s grown up, he’s learned a few things, and he’s finally figured out exactly what he wants, or, rather, who he wants.

BAHAHAHA!!!! Thanks for the soundtrack to my 5 day work week. Today wasn't the best work day and obviously it is only Monday. Perhaps the rest of the week will be better, but I would definitely rather be soaking up the sun.

  21. It wasn't planned. It just happened that way, but I thought it was kind of funny. I'm excited about Lailah too, and the author seems to be pretty accessible too--which I love. Oh yes, going from 2 days a week back to 5 must be torture. I'm hoping today was no indication of how the rest of the week will go, but I won't complain. Thanks for stopping by and commenting Rachel!

  28. Look at all the shatter-related things! How funny! I'm curious about Lailah, and seriously love the creepy cover. :)

Yeah, it's always hard to go back to 5 days a week of anything after not being in it. Last semester I had class 2 days a week, but I have class 5 days a week this summer and it's still killing me. :)

    Have a wonderful week Sandy!
