Top Ten Resolutions for 2016

Guys for once I don't know that I can come up with ten resolutions/goals. But here's what I've got so far.

1. Read the Bible for the 5th (I think) year in a row.
2. Read 52 books--1 per week.
3. Post 1 book review per week.
4. Read 10-12 Series Enders.

Seriously guys. That's all I feel like I can commit to book/blogging wise. And my life aside from reading and blogging is so vague right now that I don't feel like I can commit to anything more concrete. What about you guys? What are your resolutions for 2016? Let me know!

Of course, there's always the possibility that I'll not get to some of these )a few of them have been on my goals list for the last two years), or I'll come across a new/new-to-me series that I read the entire series during 2016. So we'll see what happens. These are just the enders on my radar right now.

Top Ten Goals for 2015

Top 10 Tuesday is a post hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and this week's topic is Top Ten Goals for 2015.

My goals aren’t really that different from last year. This is not because I didn’t achieve my goals last year, but more because I just want to maintain these same goals this year. Here they are:

1. Read 104 books this year. Even though the last two years I’ve read 130+ books, I still like having a goal that I know should be doable. I’m so goal oriented that I don’t just like to achieve my goals…I like to achieve them NOW! This year I had an unofficial goal of 150 books, so we’ll see if maybe I can hit that this year. But 2 per week is a great goal that doesn’t overwhelm me.
2. Read the entire Bible in 2015. This will be my 4th year to do this. And I love having this goal each year. I’d like to maintain this one throughout my life.
3. Read 10-12 series enders for the 2015 Series Enders Reading Challenge.
4. Relax. 2013 was an unnecessarily stressful year. I like having goals for myself and the blog and reading, but I don’t want to be stressed out about achieving those goals.
5. Remain true to myself. I don’t want to get caught up in what everyone else is doing. I want to blog my way. I want to read the books I like. I want to be happy and satisfied with what I’m doing.
6. Lose weight. Ugh. I wouldn’t be upset if I dropped 20+ pounds. I was 20 pounds lighter two years ago and this past year being healthy just wasn’t on my radar as much as it should have been.
7. Increased prayer with Husband. I’ve got this thing where I type up prayers to God and I’ll share them with people—usually whoever I’m praying for. Even when I’m mostly just praying for myself I’ll send them to Husband so that he’s always aware of what I’m going through, what I’m praying about, and where my heads at. I really feel like this has been a good thing throughout our marriage. I don’t want to commit to one a day, but I want to aim for 5 prayers a week that I type up and share with him.

My remaining goals are actually pretty personal. They’re mostly family and financially related. So I hope you don’t mind me choosing not to share them. I wanted to add “Have X blog followers” or “increased commenting on other blogs” but truthfully, I love each and every follower I have and I enjoy commenting on other blogs, but I’m not really in a place where that’s my focus right now. I’m not in a place where I’m actively pursuing new blog followers, and I’m pretty happy with the amount of commenting I do on other blogs at the moment.

I love having goals for the year. And it’s really important to me that my goals are attainable and measureable. “Remain true to myself” is a bit ambiguous, but I’ll know if I’m doing it or not.

2015 Series Enders Reading Challenge - Goals

This challenge is for all of you series readers who are scared to death of that last book in the series. You anxiously await it. You stalk it. You get your hands on it as soon as possible. But then…you put off reading it for fear that it might not be everything you thought it would be. Or, maybe you just have a backlog of series started and you need to finish that last book.

Join us in knocking out those pesky last books in a series. This is your chance. Here’s your motivation. Better than that, we have prizes!

Challenge Guidelines:

1) This challenge will run from January 1, 2015 until December 31, 2015.

2) Anyone can enter. You don’t have to have a blog just as long as you review your books somewhere: on your blog if you have one, Amazon, Goodreads, Shelfari, etc.

3) Any genre, length, or format is acceptable as long as it is the last book in a series where all books in the series have been published and no more books are currently intended to be published in the series. If an author makes a decision somewhere during the year to add on to the series, we will count both the original last book in the series and the “new last” book in the series assuming the author isn’t going to write more than one additional book. Last book published in a series doesn’t count if more books are expected to be published.

4) You can list your series enders ahead of time or do a singular wrap up post. If you decide to list them up front, feel free to change them throughout the year as necessary.

5) When you sign up in the linky, please use the direct link to your post about joining the 2015 Series Enders Reading Challenge. If you don’t have a blog, please post about it on Facebook or Twitter and include that direct link as your sign up.

6) You can sign up until December 15, 2015. This allows you to join the challenge at any time during the year.

7) On the 25th of every month, we will post a wrap up on both Somewhere Only We Know and Words Fueled by Love with a giveaway and a place for you to link up your reviews for the month. The monthly giveaway will be open until the next wrap up post goes up (ex. From January 25th 2015, to February 25th 2015). For each link to a review, you will get an (1) entry into a drawing for that giveaway. This will be open internationally.

8) Monthly giveaway prizes will be an e-book of your choice up to $10 (USD).

9) If you miss a wrap-up post and giveaway, you can link your review the next month. Please do not try to link to one review twice. We will be verifying these.

10) December will be the wrap up for the entire year. All reviews linked from January through December will be entered into a Grand Prize giveaway.

11) You don’t have to follow Somewhere Only We Know or Words Fueled by Love to participate in the challenge, but you do have to follow both of us in order to be entered in the giveaways.
